Hello Arizona Mushroom Society Members,
I am pleased to announce our first Arizona Mushroom Society Culinary Committee event of the season! AMS will be hosting a Spring Mushroom Dinner at Salt Restaurant & Wine Bar located at 476 W. White Mountain Blvd. in Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.
AMS Board Member and Chef, Jacob Ochsankehl, has put together a delightful menu focused on mushrooms, including dishes that will star our spring favorite (the morel!), as well as a decadent treat of fresh Oregon truffles. The proposed menu is outlined below, although slight changes may occur. This will be a memorable event and we hope you can join us!
The base cost for this dinner is $65.00 per person, with an optional wine pairing for an additional $25.00 per person. Taxes and 18% gratuity will be added when you register.
Registration will open Saturday, April 8. If you will be attending this event, we request you complete your registration and pay the required fees before the deadline date of May 1, 2017. There will be no refunds after that date unless another member takes your place.
It is possible, but by no means assured, that we will be able to take out a morel foray the same day or the day after on the Mogollon Rim. Keep your eyes open for an announcement, as registration for the foray will be separate from this dinner and will fill quickly.
We are also very excited about other AMS culinary events that will be planned this season, including Mike Dechter’s Pick and Cook Event in Flagstaff on August 26, 2017, and cook-outs held in conjunction with our upcoming planned forays. We haven't forgotten that you asked us to plan events that will be nominal in cost and family-friendly. We look forward to seeing you at some of them this year. Happy Mushrooming!
