DESCRIPTION: AMS foray boss Mike Dechter has arranged for a one-day event on the Hart Prairie Preserve north of Flagstaff, owned by the Nature Conservancy. This will be a "pick-and-cook" event aimed at collecting edible mushroom species, cooking them in the lodge kitchen, and tasting them as a group.
This will be a good opportunity for our members to taste tiny samples of many unfamiliar species, and determine whether or not it is worth making the effort to learn to identify them and perform a full Leathers Edibility Test to ensure they are agreeable to one's digestion.
There will be a modest fee for this event, part of which is for cooking supplies and part of which will go to support the mission of the Nature Conservancy.
SPACES ARE LIMITED.
