Join us for a hybrid talk and drawing demo with artist and mycology enthusiast Chris Adams, founder of Sporelust! and creator of The Mushroom Tarot and Corvidopolis. No registration required.
In this engaging presentation, Chris will share his long and winding journey as an artist, forest lover, and fungal enthusiast. Through a visual slideshow and discussion (about 75% of the program), he’ll explore his creative process and how his work blends scientific illustration, skate and counterculture art, and vintage comic influences. The final portion of the session will feature a live drawing demonstration, offering insight into how he illustrates mushrooms and brings fungi-inspired artwork to life.
Chris’s work merges humor, art, and science to spark curiosity about fungi and the ecosystems they support. His goal is simple: help people see that mushrooms might just help save the world—whether humans are ready or not.
About the Artist
Chris Adams is the founder and artist behind Sporelust!, The Mushroom Tarot, and Corvidopolis. Since childhood he has wandered the coastal and mountain forests of the Pacific Northwest, observing and learning from the natural world.
For more than a decade, Chris has combined his love of biodiverse ecosystems—especially fungi—with influences from skate culture, scientific illustration, and vintage comics. The result is a distinctive body of work that is playful, educational, and difficult to categorize, often making viewers laugh while learning a bit of mycology along the way.
