Mack Kleiva + Jade Frolic - Mycoremediation basics, plus overview of their specific work

Mack and Jade of Metamimicry will provide an introduction to bioremediation, examples of practical applications, and an overview of their work with mycoremediation, community access, and how we’re building capacity for community mycoremediation projects. Mack & Jade founded Metamimicry during the Spring of 2021 in Olympia, WA. After finding a shared interest in bioremediation, they developed a mycoremediation experiment for treating a recently discovered tire chemical which has been poisoning salmon in regional streams. Their backgrounds help them bridge the gap between "ivory tower academic science” and grassroots bioremediation efforts — connecting their community to resources, knowledge, and inspiration.
