Sedona Fungi Presentation by Mike Dechter

  • 08 Mar 2023
  • 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Zoom

This is a presentation hosted and provided by Keep Sedona Beautiful for free on Wednesday, March 8th at the 360 Brewer Rd. in Sedona. There is no zoom option provided and no registration is necessary for this event.

On Wednesday, March 8 at 5:00 PM, Mike Dechter will present about Sedona Fungi.

Most people know Sedona for its unparalleled views of enchanting red rock formations, but in the crooks and crevices can be found those of the cryptic kingdom. From the head of Oak Creek Canyon to the sandy shores of the Verde River, there are a variety of unique habitat types that provide for a diverse and interesting array of fungi.

This presentation starts with more general information on the benefits and uses of fungi, and goes over some of the basics associated with identifying mushrooms and edibility. Then we get right down to the wonderful world of fungi that live among the red rocks and talk about the unique landscape attributes of the area and the attributes of the fungi that inhabit it.
