I believe the general consensus is that the morels will continue to fruit  though in dwindling numbers for a few years after the fire.  The Slide Fire occurred in June 2014 and we found  post fire morels in 2015 and  2016  for example.  Same with the San Juan fire which has been producing for a few years.

My wife and I had success finding Fire Morels Last June at the North Rim wildfire locations that were showcased in the forum discussions primarily penned by Chris May. My question is this: When is the best time to forage for Fire Morels ? The same year as a fire ? The year after a fire ? Or will they continue to fruit for several years after a fire ? Sooo looking forward to getting out and about in the spring.
